|Why yes, that is a purple tomato.|
Some things in life are disappointing.
Politics. Always. Always.
Certain dinner parties.
Sea horses. They don't look anything like horses.
(If you're wondering why I have sea horses on my mind, the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of my child, who is into cheesy pirate music.)
(It drives his dad out of the house, and maybe would me too, but he dances to it. Dances!)
Claps his little chubby hands and toddles in circles!
You know what is never disappointing, besides a dancing toddler?
Basil. And tomatoes. Together.
Never ever, ever.
Garden fresh in my case. I'm so proud.
(Peppers were a bust, though...apparently one triangle of shade from the neighbor's roof covers them through the sunny parts of the day...drag).
The mozzarella is the buffalo kind, although I didn't make it myself.
Although you can do that. Did you know that people do that?
I'd like to try it some time.
Actually it's pretty cool how sea horses float around on their teeny tiny fins and have those curly tails, now that I think about it.
Buffalo Mozzarella, sliced
Salt and Pepper
Mix ingredients together in whatever proportions you desire. I like enough oil to make things just slightly slick, and about the same amount of vinegar. Chomp chomp chomp!
